Transforming Unwanted Behaviors: Is Change Possible for a Better You

Is our body capable of releasing all the things we carry with us, which we aren't even aware of until someone brings them to our attention?

For instance, we might hold our breath until someone tells us to breathe, or in a stressful situation where we disconnect from our bodies and mentally escape to a safe place, only to have someone ask us where we went. Sometimes, we act in ways that don't make sense to us or others, and we may only recognize it afterward, not in the moment, leading us to question why we reacted that way.

As we grow up, we all accumulate life experiences—some are forgotten, some remain vivid, and others we prefer not to recall. I believe we shouldn't dwell on the past, but what happens when our body can't forget and does such things?

I can only share my personal experience; it happened to me, and I didn't realize it until someone pointed it out to me. At that moment, I became aware of it and began to wonder why. It occurred during a stressful situation, and I realized my consciousness was wandering off, just my body was present.

The issue was that I couldn't understand it at the moment, but my unconscious mind was processing it. Suddenly, I remembered what happened to me when I was little, and in that moment, tears began to fall, and I couldn't seem to stop them. I was releasing a lot of old, stored tension in my body, and afterward, I felt significantly better.

Anyway, we understand that when we cling to situation such as shock, fear, sadness, or feeling unloved, our body needs a place to store these experiences. This can lead to the development of undesirable behaviors, as previously mentioned. It seems to me that emotions are the key to releasing it from the body where Shiatsu can help.

It seems to me that emotions are the key to releasing tension and stress from the body, and this is where Shiatsu can play a significant role in facilitating that release. Emotions are often stored in our physical bodies, manifesting as tension, discomfort, or even pain in various areas. This connection between emotional states and physical well-being is well-documented in holistic health practices, where the understanding is that unresolved emotions can lead to blockages in the body's energy flow.
