The Importance of Pressure Points for Our Health and Wellbeing

Updated: May 19

We are all familiar with pressure points and understand that every human and animal possesses these prescious points within themselves.

There are numerous ways to treat them, but my favourite is using Shiatsu to sense the different qualities. The advantages of using them correctly can be a fantastic addition to our current knowledge. I'd like to share a few pressure points with you.

For instance: When you experience like headache, arm and shoulder pain you could press large intestine 4 which is on the halfway between thumb and index finger bones where the smooth muscle is on the outside of your hand.

If you experience discomfort in your lungs, like coughing, chest pain during breathing, or a feeling of tightness, you can address it by working on the pressure points Lungs 7, 9, 10, and 11 on your own. We can locate these points on the inside of our hand near the thumb. You can go with a deep pressure where you even can feel the pulse of your hand. Lu 11 is in the thumb inside of the nail.

You can gently massage those points or apply a bit of pressure, depending on what feels good for you. Once, I had a persistent headache and began applying pressure to LI4. After some time, the point started to hurt, and my headache disappeared. :)

It's amusing how our body functions at times.

Don't hesitate to text me if someone is interested in understanding various perspectives on different issues.
