The lungs and the large intestine are part of the Metal element family. The large intestine aids the lungs by performing excretory functions and removing blockages.
In Shiatsu, the large intestine is linked to carrying out the directives and executing the intentions of the lungs.
Psychologically, the large intestine is associated with keeping our secrets or maintaining privacy.
Therefore, if the large intestine *meridian is compromised, emotions may not be effectively expressed or released.
Our breathing becomes shallow, blood circulation may worsen, leading to constipation, a sensation of heat, and dizziness in the head.
Our skin tone gets pale, and we might get respiratory diseases. Experiencing cold sensations in the lower digestive tract, diarrhea, hemorrhoids, and pain or difficulty in moving the thumb.
These symptoms indicate an imbalance in the large intestine *meridian.
In Shiatsu, we engage with all 12 *Meridians, and following a treatment focused on the large intestine and lung meridians, clients often experience improved breathing and a reduction in some unwanted symptoms.
*In my upcoming section, I would like to discuss Meridians, including what they are, what they do, and what they are capable of.
